Yesterday, I wrote a post about no help for single women without kids. I've been asking people for ideas to help women who find themselves in a challenging financial situation with no one to turn to. My co-worker suggested a halfway house, which is a good idea. However, I think I'd rather create more of a residential motel type place so the women can have a private room and bathroom.
We could also have community rooms so for women to get together to talk and be supportive of each other. I think that most women would prefer a private room to sleep in. Sleeping in a room with a stranger after the trauma of leaving or being put out of your home is a bit much.
Please give me your ideas. I really want to hear from you. Just put yourself in someone else's shoes and think about what you might need re transportation to work, housing, support emotionally, etc.
