Rand Paul and Tom Cotton in 2016

2016 may seem to be a long way off, and the next four years is going to be a very rough ride. Let us hope that America will survive. The next Presidential Election will be here before we know it. King Barry O’s rank of immortality could one day backfire on the Democrats; they really don’t think anyone else is on his level. This could come back to haunt them in 2016.

It is possible Americans will become bored with the celebrity tyranny, and will once again want a government bound by the Constitution. If America is still here, Republicans could have a chance to win the White House again. In the next election Republicans needs to nominate a team who will stand beside the principles of the Founding Fathers. They will also need to tell the major media to take a hike.

In my opinion, Senator Rand Paul and Congressman Tom Cotton could be a winning team for Republicans. Most of us know that Rand Paul is a Senator from Kentucky, and the son of Ron Paul. Tom Cotton is the newly elected representative for Arkansas’ forth district. He is a veteran and a graduate of Harvard Law School. Some political experts believe he could be a rising star in the Republican Party. If this is the case, I am sure it will be long until he is targeted by the major media.

Regardless of who will get the nomination in 2016, Republican need a candidate who will promise never to sign an Executive order which will override the other branches of government.

Sounds good, but I doubt it the party would ever put two southerners on the ticket together. The party needs to unify around the conservative constitutional principles, but more than that, candidates need to learn how to communicate to low information voters in ways that reach them. Reading them financial charts leaves them cold. We have to reach their hearts and make them see the benefit of electing Republicans. The other side knows how to do that better, even if they do it by telling lies. I have never heard a president lie as much as I've heard this one lie this month. I'd like us to be able to communicate truth that will connect with people.

I worry about Executive Orders that could come about within the next four years. I hope we will still have a nation with check and balances.

So do I. Some of what I read on Facebook is frightening. Good men will have to stand up and call the executive branch to account. That means Congress will have to develop a spine.

The Young Republicans get this. They're going to high schools and colleges to explain exactly what it means to be a conservative and a Republican. For too long, we've allowed liberal media and liberal politicians to define what is a conservative.

Terry, I am hoping the Lord returns before then, as I can see us heading towards governmental regulation of our private lives--and public laws, too--that are going to make things absolutely intolerable.

I, too, wish for his return, but our brethren throughout the world, and most especially in the Middle East right now, are having to live out their faith in intolerable circumstances. There is no guarantee that we will not be called upon to do the same.

It would be nice to have Rhode Island nominee. They have a balanced budget in Rhode Island and fine you for not having a gun to defend the state.

Jean, I like that idea. Just have to be sure we do not pick anymore wolves in sheep's clothing. Then of course there is the major problem of election fraud that in my opinion is what gave Obama a second term. I mean come on now, How can 146% of registered voters vote for Obama? That spells F-R-A-U-D!

I'm not sold on Rand Paul as a candidate hey may be more convincing than Christie, but Rand Paul Concerns me.
But you had to know I had something else to say
More importantly, I'm not sure there is going to be a 2016 election, not the way the administration is shutting the constitution down.
I can only hope Congress wakes up in time and starts impeachment proceedings.

I really think it is possible he may try some Executive Order to stay longer in office. I think by then everyone will be tired of the hype and the celebrity tyranny of Barry O.

Mooch, I've wondered about this since 2008. If Republicans and Libertarians in Congress don't start holding the President to the Constitution and educating the American people as to why its important, we may lose the country for good. There seems to be a disconnect in the minds of some voters between the Constitution and the rights they've taken for granted all their lives.

Joe Biden isn't in the greatest of health I wonder who will replace him if he can't complete his next four years as VP?

Ms. Lee, do you think they could find anyone worse to finish Biden's term? I suppose his replacement could be put in place for the 2016 election and I'm sure Biden would willingly step aside and fall on his sword, if asked. Makes me want to pray harder!

Terry, what I hope to see is candidates who seek election to represent their constituents, not their parties. Party time is over. Our country has serious problems and we need honest, well-qualified people to solve those problems. We need to restore the three branches of government and to remind leaders that they work for We the people.

Jan,I agree, but those future leaders have to come from somewhere. They have to come up through local government, which most citizens almost ignore. Agenda 21 is being implemented at the local level, but how much do people know about the people they vote for to be on city councils and county boards? How many people go to the meetings to see what they are doing and hold them to account? I wrote more about this in Can Conservatives Take Back the USA?
